Hong Kong - May 05th, 2026 - Kickstarter has launched a formal Partner Program designed to give creators access to vetted, experienced support across every phase of a campaign, from pre-launch strategy through post-campaign fulfillment. The program addresses one of the most persistent failure points in crowdfunding: products that fund successfully but never ship.
Morpho, a product development and manufacturing company based in China, is part of the program's founding partner network, providing manufacturing and production expertise to Kickstarter creators navigating the supply chain. The company, formerly known as MorphoMFG, also completed a rebrand in October 2025, updating its name, visual identity and positioning to reflect its broader role as a full-spectrum product development partner, not a contract manufacturer.
Filling a Structural Gap in the Crowdfunding Ecosystem
The Kickstarter Partner Program, launched in February 2026, builds on the platform's existing partner ecosystem with expanded visibility, clearer signals of experience and a more structured way for creators to find trusted support. Partners cover campaign strategy, marketing and promotion, manufacturing and production, fulfillment and logistics, and product design.
The program was built around a problem Morpho has spent over a decade watching play out: campaigns that fund successfully but fail in production.
"Most founders underestimate how iterative product development actually is," said Kay Ye, Morpho's COO. "They assume they can go from a working prototype to mass production in a straight line. In reality, every stage introduces new variables. Materials behave differently, tolerances stack up, assembly becomes a constraint."
The consequences compound quickly. Once tooling is committed, a process that can cost tens of thousands of dollars, design changes become expensive or impossible. Morpho's model front-loads that risk: DFM (design for manufacturability) review happens before steel is cut, not after.
"It's the cheapest point to make changes," said Ye. "Once steel is cut, everything gets expensive very quickly."
From Factory Network to Product Partner
Founded more than a decade ago by Josh Fairbairn, a former hardware founder who lost his entire investment trying to build a product in China, Morpho was built around a premise the manufacturing industry rarely articulates: factories make what they're asked to make, regardless of whether it works.
"When a funded creator comes to a factory, the factory takes their files and makes what they're asked to make," said Fairbairn. "If the design is wrong, they'll still make it. If the tolerances are off, they'll still run it. Our job is the difficult middle, between concept and mass production, where most of the real risk lives."
That middle includes industrial design, mechanical engineering, electronics, DFM (design for manufacturability), tooling, quality systems and logistics. Morpho has guided more than 1,000 founders through that process, working across crowdfunding campaigns, investor-backed startups and established product companies.
Portfolio Numbers Behind the Partnership
Morpho's inclusion in Kickstarter's Partner Program reflects a track record built through campaigns across product categories. Products developed and manufactured through Morpho have collectively raised tens of millions in crowdfunding, including:
- BullseyeBore Core, a precision drilling tool that raised $534,000 on Kickstarter against a $20,000 goal in 20 minutes, later winning the 2024 Red Dot Innovative Product Award
- écoute, a vacuum tube headphone system, which raised over $1,000,000 across Kickstarter campaigns
- BrainBlink, a pocket-sized competitive brain game designed with LastObject co-founder Nicolas Aagaard, which reached 1,500% of its funding goal
Each product moved from prototype through tooling, mass production and fulfillment, the full supply chain arc that Kickstarter campaigns routinely struggle to complete.
A Rebrand Built Around the Same Premise
The shift from MorphoMFG to Morpho in October 2025 was driven by the same logic that shaped the company's founding: precision in positioning. The MFG suffix, while accurate, framed the company inside a category it had long outgrown.
The updated identity, including a new name, visual system and website, reflects a company whose value proposition is not manufacturing execution alone, but the engineering judgment that keeps products from reaching manufacturing in a broken state.
The company continues to operate formally as MorphoMFG and maintains its China-based operations and factory network of more than 2,000 vetted suppliers and manufacturers.
Morpho is a product development and manufacturing company headquartered in Shenzhen, China. Founded more than a decade ago, the company has guided 1,000+ founders through industrial design, mechanical and electronics engineering, prototyping, tooling and mass production across electronics and durable goods. Morpho also develops its own brands, including écoute audio and BrainBlink. As a partner in the Kickstarter Partner Program, Morpho supports creators from post-campaign through fulfilled delivery.
