American Battery Factory has named co-founder Zhenfang "Jim" Ge as its new CEO, the battery manufacturer announced Tuesday.
Ge replaces former President and CEO Paul Charles, who resigned at the beginning of the year “to pursue other endeavors,” the company said in the release.
The incoming CEO has served as chairman since the company was launched in 2021.
Ge brings previous industry experience to the role, having launched energy storage manufacturer Lion Energy in 2014. The company is now a partner of American Battery Factory, according to its website.
American Battery Factory noted Ge will utilize his knowledge of China’s battery manufacturing and supply chain industry in his capacity as CEO.
Ge’s appointment comes months after the company announced plans to create a network of U.S. gigafactories over the next three years, beginning with a battery cell production site in Tucson, Arizona.
