Manufacturers continue to pour money into new U.S. projects, amid investments in clean energy, semiconductor and drug facilities.
Now in their second year, the CHIPS and Science Act and Inflation Reduction Act are still driving a flurry of investments as big name manufacturers and their many suppliers announce new projects across the country.
The legislation packages are meant to spur the next generation of manufacturing investments and jobs — the CHIPS Act has doled out roughly $32.5 billion in grant awards, while the IRA has spurred roughly $128 billion in private capital investment thus far.
At the same time, the skyrocketing popularity of weight loss drugs in the country is pushing drugmakers like Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk to invest billions of dollars in production expansions.
